The Dalhousie Squash Club (DSC) operates out of Dalplex, the athletics facility for Dalhousie University, located in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We are the largest formal club in Atlantic Canada, annually boasting (squash humour) more than 80 members.  Besides having regular reserved club hours for members, we also organize the largest (often with more than 100 players) and possibly the oldest squash tournament in the maritimes.  Scroll to the bottom of this page for information about club court times, tournaments, and so forth. The 2010-2011 Season Begins!

Welcome to the Dal Squash Club 2010-2011 playing season.  We are already underway with activities for the new year:

• Regular club court times are back in effect as of September 1, 2010 (scroll to bottom of page for times).
• Tuesday September 21, 5:30-7:00, courtside viewing gallery: Open House and General Meeting.  Pizza and beverages provided.  Come meet club members and hear about upcoming activities.  Bring a friend or NEW MEMBER!
• GBK League Team selection: Competition begins around October 20, but team selection is starting NOW!  Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • Joining the club: Fees are the same as last year, $35 for Dalhousie Students, $45 for non-Dalhousie Students. Payment is only available through the Dalplex Front Desk.  Old club tags will be retired shortly, and reinstated upon receipt of payment. Memberships do NOT include Squash NS dues any longer, players must arrange these on their own if they wish to participate in Squash NS activities.
• Dalhousie Invitational Squash Tournament: 32nd edition, January 20-23, 2011.  Members receive a registration discount.
• Volunteers are sought: Two 'At-Large' vacancies on Executive; Women's League Coordinator; Helpers for GBK team selection and Annual Tournament.
  

What does Membership Include?

1. Access to designated club court times
2. Discounted registration for Dalhousie Invitational Tournament
3. A DSC article of clothing (to be determined!)
4. Start of season open-house, December party/tournament, End of season party
5. Participation in club-funded clinics or workshops
6. Eligible to join a GBK Dalhousie team (must also pay Squash NS dues)
7. Fellowship with other members in the largest Squash Club in Atlantic Canada
   

Regular Club Activities

Club court times

Club court times are a chance for members to drop in and pick up matches with other members.  When you arrive, put your club tag in the next available position on the circular board.  When a court becomes available, choose a partner from the other tags up to three places behind you on the board.  Put both of your tags on the hook for the court you will play on.  Matches are always 3 games (not best of 3, but 3 total), using the PAR-11 scoring system.

• Tuesday 5:30pm-close (courts 1 & 2, 5:30-close + court 4, 5:45-close)
• Thursday 5:30pm-close (courts 1 & 2, 5:30-close + court 4, 5:45-close)
• Saturday  12:30-3:30pm (courts 1 & 2 12:30-3:30 + court 4 12:45-3:00)
